    Summer Show 2007

Summer Show – Saturday 29 July

What a great day we had for this year’s Summer Show!

Another year with mixed weather to contend with and still the standards were high, with many vegetables and flowers represented.  We had many new visitors with several new members joining the Society and supported all day by our hard working volunteers and committee members.  We THANK YOU all!

The judges were very impressed with the standard especially the Domestic and Handicraft classes with compliments (well deserved) in the cake department.  Flower arrangements with the title “Pub Signs” were very well thought out and the juniors produced many “Beetles” from beans and amazing “Sundials” from recycled material.

We also had a large plant sale together with our shop and raffle and of course refreshments which were enjoyed by many.  We wish to pass on our grateful thanks to all our members who volunteered and helped us out on the day and we hope every one enjoyed the show.  Gillian Coppen, Show Secretary
