    Autumn Show 2007

This year’s Autumn show was held on Tuesday evening 18th September at the United Reformed Church hall.

There was quite a slow start for this show with just ten members entering prior to the meeting but during the setting up period several late entries were put forward and we were very pleased that nineteen members entered many of the classes and there was a total of 130 entries by the time the judges began their judging.  As the entries came in we had to expand their allotted space and the quality and numbers was good to see.  Also the domestic classes were well represented with all classes being entered. The domestic judge was very complimentary on the quality of the produce and explained to the members all the good (and bad) points and how she had decided on the winners, which was very interesting and informative. There were two flower and vegetable judges and they also explained how they had come to their decisions with lots of tips for future entrants.  While the points were totted up and every one enjoyed a cup of tea, bought plants and raffle tickets there was plenty to see with all the exhibits and many photographs of the summer show. The members had also taken part in a fun quiz with two members winning £5 each.  The prizes and trophies were presented by the Chairman, Peter Gayward
